Excursions in Bar
Bar is the southernmost resort town with a scheduled programme, and that shifts the geography: Ulcinj is 35–40 minutes away, Lake Skadar forty minutes, Albania twenty kilometres. On the other hand, the northern routes take longer and cost more from here than from Budva, and the departure is early even by local standards.

The south and Lake Skadar
Lake Skadar with a boat trip costs from €53 per person, and Bar is closer to Virpazar than any other resort: forty minutes, against an hour from Budva. To the south is Stari Bar with its ruins and two-thousand-year-old olive tree; together with Shkodër, across the border in Albania, it makes a one-day trip from €53. Further south are Ulcinj with its minarets and Velika Plaža — thirteen kilometres of fine dark-grey sand. The lake and Shkodër trips run in season only and do not operate from October to May. The operator runs all its tours, group and private, only with a Russian-speaking guide.
What the long routes involve
From Bar the Tara and Morača canyons cost from €68 — €10 more than from Budva — and it means an early start and a long drive. The same goes for rafting, from €82, which also runs in season only: it does not operate from October to May. If a day on a coach does not appeal, the south and the lake give you more for less time on the road.
Pickup and a town that works all year
Bar is a working port that lives beyond the summer, but tours from here follow the same calendar as the rest of the coast: group routes run in season, and most do not operate from October to May. Groups gather along the waterfront and at the bus station. This is also where the ferry to Bari in Italy leaves, and shop prices are below resort level — many people do their shopping here.
Prices by format
Prices are starting prices, per adult. A child's ticket is usually about half the adult price; the operator gives the age limit and the exact sum in each route description. Entrance tickets and lunch are normally paid separately on the day — the operator gives you the exact figures.
