Below is the booking form: airport, town, date and class of car. You book and pay directly with the company that runs the transfer.

How an airport transfer works

A transfer is a car and driver booked in advance to meet your flight. The price is fixed when you book and charged per car, not per person: one way, to any address within the destination town. The return journey costs the same. From Tivat airport it is from €58 to Budva and from €44 to Kotor; from Podgorica airport, from €34 within the city.

The driver waits at the exit from arrivals holding a sign with the passenger’s first name and surname. An hour of waiting at the airport is included. You pay in two parts: a small deposit by card when you book, and the rest in cash to the driver after the ride. You can also skip the deposit, in which case you upload your flight tickets when booking.

The service is provided by independent companies; you book and pay directly with them. The other ways out of Tivat airport — bus, hire car or taxi — are covered in Tivat airport: getting to Budva and Kotor.

Transfer prices by route, and what changes them

From Tivat airport: within Tivat from €41, Kotor from €44, Budva from €58, Bečići from €62, Sveti Stefan from €72, Perast from €74, Petrovac from €89, Bar from €112, Herceg Novi from €116, Podgorica from €136 and Ulcinj from €164. From Podgorica airport: within the city from €34, Budva from €73, Bar from €86, Kotor from €130, Tivat and Ulcinj from €136, Herceg Novi from €164. These are economy prices for up to four people.

The class of car makes the biggest difference. An estate with a large boot costs from €78 to Budva and from €90 to Kotor. A minivan for up to five is from €115 to Budva, a minibus for up to 16 from €295. Child seats are charged separately, as is waiting beyond the included hour: €12 for each extra hour.

You pay for the car, not the seats, so every extra passenger makes the trip cheaper: four people in an economy car to Budva pay roughly €15 each. The exact price for your date, time and class of car is calculated by the company when you book. Town-by-town details are in our guides to transfers from Tivat airport and from Podgorica airport.

Transfer, bus, hire car or taxi: which is cheaper?

For two people travelling light, a transfer is not the cheapest option: the bus is. From Podgorica airport it runs from the terminal to the city bus station for €3. No bus leaves from the Tivat terminal: Tivat bus station is 1.4 km away, about 20 minutes on foot along a road with no pavement, which is hard work with suitcases; from there Budva is usually €5 and Kotor about €3. Times and fares for your date are on busticket4.me. A taxi at the airport and in season is the most expensive option; if you take one, agree the fare before you get in.

A transfer comes into its own when there are three or four of you, or you have children or a lot of luggage: the price is known when you book, the driver meets you with a sign, and the child seat and a car big enough for the bags are arranged in advance. For a beach week in Budva you usually do not need a car at all: a transfer there and back is from €116 for the whole group, while parking in Budva costs €1–2 an hour, up to €3 near the Old Town, and is charged around the clock.

Hiring a car pays off when you need it for more than the airport run. Economy cars start at €25 a day in low season; in July and August hire costs about twice what it does in May. If Lovćen, Durmitor, Ostrog or Lake Skadar are on your list, pick up a car at the airport and skip the transfer. Options are on the car rental page, and the sums for three typical trips are in car, bus, taxi or transfer: what is cheaper in Montenegro.

Transfers from Tivat airport

Tivat airport sits between the coast’s main resorts: Kotor is 7 km and 15 minutes away, Budva 20 km and 25–30 minutes. That is why transfers from here are the cheapest: within Tivat from €41, to Kotor from €44, to Budva from €58. In July and August the coast road jams and journeys take one and a half to two times as long, but the transfer price is fixed when you book.

Further along the coast the prices climb: Bečići from €62, Sveti Stefan from €72, Petrovac from €89, Bar from €112, Ulcinj from €164. Around the Bay of Kotor, Perast is from €74 and Herceg Novi from €116. The busiest route has its own guide — Tivat airport to Budva by transfer — and every town, with prices by class of car, is in Tivat airport transfers.

If you land late or travel with small children, a transfer is calmer than sorting out a car on the spot: the driver is waiting with a sign and the child seat is already booked. What to do in Tivat itself is in Tivat and Porto Montenegro.

Transfers from Podgorica airport

A transfer from Podgorica airport into the city starts at €34, the lowest price on this page. The sea is further away and costs more: Budva is about 65 km and an hour and a quarter by road, with transfers from €73, and Bar is from €86. Kotor is about 85 km and an hour and three quarters away, from €130; Tivat and Ulcinj are from €136, Herceg Novi from €164.

Podgorica makes sense if your first stop is not the sea: the capital itself, Lake Skadar (Virpazar is 25 km away), Ostrog monastery or the north. It is also the cheaper start for the southern coast: Bar from €86 (€112 from Tivat) and Ulcinj from €136 (€164 from Tivat). For the Bay of Kotor it is the other way round: Kotor is from €44 from Tivat, but from €130 from Podgorica.

Without a car, you leave Podgorica airport by bus: the stop is outside the terminal, with 27–28 departures to the bus station on weekdays and 14 on Sundays, €3 and 11–50 minutes; two a day go straight to Budva, €12, about an hour and a half. From the bus station more than 30 buses a day go to Budva, about an hour and a half, €6–9; times and fares are on busticket4.me. Which airport to choose, and how long the drive to the sea takes, is in Podgorica airport transfers: prices and drive times.

Children, luggage, waiting and cancellations

Child seats are a legal requirement in Montenegro. They are ordered when you book the transfer and paid for separately, so give the number and ages of your children straight away. An economy car takes four people; with a lot of luggage — large suitcases, a pushchair, sports kit — choose an estate with a large boot (from €78 to Budva) or a minivan for up to five (from €115).

At the airport the first hour of waiting is included and each further hour is €12. At a hotel the driver waits 20 minutes, then charges €5 for every further 20 minutes. You give your flight number when booking, or later if you do not have it yet; if the flight is delayed, call the organiser on the number in your voucher. The driver’s language is not guaranteed in advance, so keep your hotel’s address on your phone, ready to show.

The deposit is refunded if you cancel 48 hours or more ahead. Cancel or reschedule within the last 48 hours, or miss the pick-up, and it is not; for minibuses and coaches it is non-refundable in any case. A transfer for the next day must be booked by 17:00 Montenegro time, after that by request; in high season, book 3–4 days ahead. Starting prices were checked in September 2026; the exact sum is calculated by the company.

You can also skip the deposit and pay everything in cash; in that case you upload your flight tickets when booking. We play no part in the payment.
Cancellation
The deposit is refunded if you cancel 48 hours or more before the transfer. Cancel or reschedule within the last 48 hours, or fail to turn up, and it is not refunded. For minibuses and coaches the deposit is non-refundable in all cases.

When to book

Season
High season runs from June to September. In July and August cars and boats are booked up 2–4 weeks ahead, and hiring a car costs roughly twice what it does in May.
